I'm seriously considering to open up my own personal blog rather than co-owning this blog with my sister. The most apparent reason for this is because she NEVER updates! AHAHAHAHAH

Yea... maybe I should really do so...

My blog is never fashion-related, it's just a blog for me to vent personal thoughts and experiences. I am never a very fashionable person, and I know clearly that I like thinking more than shopping. Yet, I must admit that I am a 100% authentic shopaholic who doesn't need a second thought once her targets are locked.

Also I must admit that my styles were very horrible in the past. It wasn't until my boy's presence that I started taking care of what I wear. A typical Sagittarian like me used to think that comfort overrides trends! :)

Gosh...I am giving lectures again and please bear with the boredom of this post. LOL!

Oh Yeah! I am meeting up with my best friend today and we gonna do some "X'mas boyfriend shopping". We gonna buy christmas gifts for our boys together and it has been a long time since we last did some serious shopping together. Thanks to the Winter Solstice, so that my best friend can off work at 4PM (which is like a dream to the PR profession)!

Gonna have English class in a while! Needa work hard for Christmas and New Year shopping! HAHAHA

Finally 24

So I have finally turned 24 on the 8th. It wasn't a fabulous birthday but it must be an unforgettable one.

The intense tummy ache has blown off my hubby's birthday surprises for me as I had stayed at home for the entire day.

You can see from the pictures that I look super sick and my eyes are so swollen and "baggy" HAHAHA

I really love this last picture. I can still see the smoke after I blew off the candles! HAHAHA

I'm now a year maturer and older. My hubby told me that he didn't find me as young-looking as I did when he first met me (it actually sounds very logical and normal), but I felt a bit depressed by this... hahaha! Maybe I'm starting to scare that he may dump me one day coz I look too old! HAHAHAH

Although I had been totured by tummy pain, my birthday morning at work was filled with sweetness and warmth. When I stepped into each classroom, I would be welcomed by the birthday song sang by my students! Many of them came up to hug me after singing and I was drowned in the sea of kids! HAHAHA! I could hardly breathe but I do love my students!

Kids never lie, so I could feel their genuine blessings to me.

Thanks again for those who have blessed/texted/called me with birthday blessings. I do love you all!

24-To-Be

My besties held a pre-birthday party for me last night at a cafe in Causeway Bay. This cafe claims itself to be the "slowest cafe in town" because there's only one chef doing all the cooking and drinks. However, the food are worth waiting because they all tasted so GOOD!!! For those who reside in Hong Kong, you may be interested in visiting this lovely place.

My friends got me this Strawberry Napoleon from Mimosa. They just know my taste too well!!Again, for those dessert-cravers in Hong Kong, you must try this out!!! This must be one of the best strawberry napoleons in town!

Thanks for all the laughters, cakes, giggles, presents, food and everything! I am so blessed and glad to have you all in my life! I mean it! I know all of you have been very busy recently, but thanks for sparing a night for coming and arranging everything for me!

Oh yeah, I have dyed my hair back to reddish brown. My mom dyed it for me at home and her hair dying skills was unbelievable! Bye-bye to the notorious "leng mo" (i.e. young models in Hong Kong) hair colour!

Needa go to visit the doctor in a while as I have been sick for 2 days already... Though the medicine did help soothing the symptoms I suffered from, the big evil cup of yummy chocolate I had last night made my throat feels really bad again. The fluctuating weather makes people sick very easily...

Will have a job interview with a marketing firm tomorrow. Still wondering what I should wear for it...Maybe I will pay a visit to H&M or Zara later in the day to look for some more formal outfits.

Obviously, I like manipulating every excuse to treat myself some new clothes! HAHA

I was stunned when I first saw this picture

I love her hair I love her lips I love her eyes I love her jacket I love her blouse I love her EVERYTHING! I suddenly feel that life is really unfair... There is this group of gifted girls who possess porcelain-like face and perfect long limbs, who can be taken care of by the top make-up artists in the world, and who can make a fortune by walking a few miles during fashion weeks every season... I feel a bit depressed when I look into the mirror and see the exact opposite to these girls everyday! lol!

However, I do believe that being beautiful is not the privilege of the gifted group. Everyone has her own distinct characters that make them special to her loved ones' eyes. We are always trapped in the normative standards of "beauty" and can't help mimicking "stylish icons" out there in the celebrity circles. It is not the rule to being stylish, it's only the rule to be a copycat.

I used to think that I will be beautiful if I can dress like a star. However, the more I study, the more I realize real beauty comes from one's inner self. Never judge a book by its cover.

A little update of myself.

My family is back and now the 5 of us are squished in a hotel apartment that's not even 700 sq ft. My mom has been complaining about how small the apartment is, and how long it takes her to cook for us with only one stove! HAHAHA! However, it's always fun to see my mom being grumpy! HAHAHA!!

Another thing is, it's my random bro's birthday today! My mom and I bought him a PSPgo as birthday present, but he didn't show the slightest level of excitement. Maybe I should have bought him a Prada tote instead (as hinted by him but I didn't get it)! hahahah!

Oh! My mom has finally finished shower! It's my turn now! Woohoo!!

Weekend

The past weekend was a definite fabulous one. I had a good day hanging out with my best friend J in IFC for pressie shopping. My brother brought us with loads of laughters and seems that he gets along with J's boyfriend so well! LOL!

This was taken outside IFC... mimicking that I got slippd and was about to fall onto the ground right next to the "caution! slippery floor" sign.

On Sunday all of us girls wenta my friend S' birthday barbecue party at taimeituk. The barbecue place was more decent than I expected and we had a fun day grilling food and flying kites. The whole day ended with cake-cutting, our beloved Maxim's Angel Cake again! (I still haven't had a chance to try out the chocolate Devil Cake though...)

Waiting for brother to be home coz I needa fetch him from downstairs and pay the taxi fare for him. Though he's turning 18 in less than 10 days, he's forever the young kid in my family's eyes.

Mom and my sister will be back in 852 tomorrow, and will join my grandparents for dinner right upon their arrival. I miss my grandparents! They are the loveliest old couple I have ever encountered! LOL!

Oh! My bro is back! woohoo!! Time to go to bed finally! Sweet dreams everyone! :)

Here's a quick update!!

As I haven't taken any worth-posting pictures recently, I decided to put up these stuff I made some times ago (just to fill up the spaces here on the blog! hahaha)

Life has been quite joyful and fulfilling. Non-stop meeting up with friends and families, as well as juggling a few freelances marketing jobs on hand. I feel more like working in marketing than in education, still!

The hectic schedule sometimes makes me more aware of my presence. I can't say that work is my everything, but I really like taking up duties that can fill up my soul and fill up my bank account!

I haven't bought much recently as my savings is undergoing a seriously downward steep slope. I think I should be more careful with money and my own finance. I should stop taking cabs to work!!! (But cabs are just everywhere so I couldn't resist the accessibility...geez)

So... back to the pictures I posted above.

The top one was made ages ago. I like the glossy and disco-ball-like beads and I felt like having a not-so-high-profile necklace back in that time. I know disco balls are usually high profile, but I tried my best to make this necklace. It ended up to be one of my favs coz it can simply go with all outfits.

The second necklace is made on Mid-Autumn Festival, while waiting for my friends' call regarding our celebrations on that night. I had been longing for a super long necklace but I could never find a nice one, so I'd rather make mine.

The last one is a pouch I made for my best friend as birthday pressie. I used this Japanese fabric my mom bought me and I love it soooo much. One imperfection is the handle.... the leather doesn't look like leather and it looks too fragile on the bag... I tried to look for a chain but I couldn't get anything out of shamshuipo the other day...

Anyways, enough talking and sleeping is needed now!! good night everyone! ;)

Back to school with some of my besties for graduation photo-taking. It has been 6 years since I left the school...time flies! I have to admit that we all look a lot maturer, yet we are still the same old us!

I still remember we used to take photos every single day at school and we shamelessly (and endlessly) made the most random poseys in those pictures. One classical picture would be we all rushed into the tuck shop and took photo with the shop owner "Uncle 6". However, I was shocked to know that the tuck shop is now gone and is replaced by a red velvet backdrop for photo-taking (the backdrop in the first pic)... I miss "Uncle 6's" fish balls and instant noodles!!!

Anyhow, congrats to the grad girls and I love you all!!

Given that I work half-day only, I got plenty of leisure time at home alone on most of the afternoons. I like spending relaxing afternoons with chocolates and TV, but I am also fond of getting my hands on making some little gifts for my dearies.

I put all the accessories I made under the name of "Lazy Artsy" because they were made due to my constant laziness and reluctance to get out of my little cozy apartment. They were made for self-entertainment purposes and I rarely wear them actually! HAHA~ Most of them were given to my friends and of coz my sis!

I gave this to my best friend J because I think the white-ness of these earrings suits her pure character so much. She is definitely the most adorable and genuine friend of mine!

I call these the "evening" version of the earrings for J because of the gold and bronze colours. They are still one of my fav and I wear them almost everyday!

My first pair of felt earrings. I like the colours and they remind me of the local stars in the affluent 80s entertainment industry! I can picture Anita Mui (one very famous diva in the 80s) wearing them singing "hung suin lid yim" (meaning "red lips").

This necklace was made accidentally. Actually it is composed of 2 gold chain bracelets and one pearl necklace. I put them together because the chain bracelets were too long for my wrists (how sad...) Although my mom kept saying that it looks very oldie, my grandma complimented it (so it looks REAL old! lol)

Actually there are many more but I am too sleepy to write more now. Oh... one more thing, my random brother's back and he's extremely annoying! Luckily my boyfriend is equally random so I just leave my bro to him for most of the time. I'm grateful to have a considerate (and random) bf like my hubby! :)

Easy to Carry

Had a nice day out with my friend "Easy To Carry" (she doesn't want her name to be published, but her name sounds like "easy to carry" in Cantonese). It has been 2 years since we last met up and both of us didn't change in the slightest bit! HAHAHA!

I'm the grinding sesame master! See how serious I look! LOL!!!

There's no way that you can hide from me! HAHAHA

She's definitely my best (and most evil) shopping buddy who kept persuading me to be consumerist. Luckily, she ended up finding me more persuasive when it comes to urging people to buy and she bought a lot more than I did!!!

Lolita

I am not talking about the "cosplay" Lolitas, I am talking about the movie "Lolita" filmed in 1997.

I used to think that it's an X-rated movie (LOL). However, after watching it with my hubby today, I couldn't hold back my tears surprisingly.

I was also shocked by Lolita's (starred Dominique Swain) beauty in the film. She is real gorgeous!

I fell in love with her costumes in the movie, too! As the movie was set in the 1940s, the costumes were very vintage-looking, and I was surprised to see the Olsens' twins look-a-like circle-framed sunnies on Dominique!

Oh... and she was wearing the black and white oxford shoes too!

They remind me of my dear old school and the school anthem was stuck in my mind for almost the entire day! HAHAHA

i haven't really been studying recently though my exam is tomorrow. haha!
and i even have been shopping twice this week! love chaddie & westfield.

and the other day my darling bought me a pj set from Peteralexander for my birthday this thursday! whenever i went pass Peteralexander at chaddie i'll just walk in unconsciously.
I LOVE PETERALEXANDER!! i recommend all girls to have a visit to peteralexander's page to see the catalogue. but for guys...hmm..to be honest, i think peteralexander is made for women......only... *wink* as in...i personally don't really like the designs of the pj's for men. Peter should only focus his career on women. :P

anyway...and TODAY! today i went shopping with my mom at westfield. she bought me a top and a pair of shorts with white-dots prints, and also O.P.I. nail polish. i love the shorts in particular because it looks like a skirt but in fact it's a pair of shorts. and the "YOU DON'T KNOW JACQUES . matte." nail polish ive got is just FUN!!

mom keeps complaining about the ugliness of the nail polish on my fingers as the "finishing product", but i just think it looks like chocolate on my fingers!! how cute is that! hehehe.

actually i have more photos to show but they're all in my bf's laptop and i shall get them soon. ;)

and last..but not least....I CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK TO HONG KONG!! the melting hot weather in melbourne now is killing me...i can just sweat like hell by sitting in my car with the windows opened waiting for my lil brother to come out from the school building.

A top that I bought the other day with my favourites being put together. Puffy shoulders and lace are my fav this season and I have never expected that I could find a top with these being put so nicely together, at a very very cheap price! Btw.. please tolerate the messiness of my apartment! :P I am too busy (lazy) to clean up! HAHAHA

I had a really good time today because I am busy working on a marketing project for my friend's entertainment company. It is a very BIG project that will be sent to the government but I wasn't very stressed out to my surprise! I enjoyed working and researching on it very much! After all, comparing with being an English teacher, I prefer Marketing over everything!

I am happy also because my hubby bought me a pair of new earphones and the new Joanna Wang CD. One of the best CDs I've ever listened!

Time to go to bed... working Monday again tomorrow... GEEZ!!

I have been away for a while given my hectic schedule, and now it's a Saturday night that I can finally have a bit of update!

Last Friday was the Halloween Party at school and my best friend's birthday party. The Halloween Party was of great fun!!! The kids all dressed up as pumpkins, witches and princesses and thought that they would have fun on a party day, but they didn't expect that they ended up all crying their eyes out for the entire day! LOL!!

My colleague dressed up as a witch and I simply dressed in all black. However, the red PVC stickers helped me with creating this haunted look a lot.

In the evening Iwenta my best friend's birthday tram party! It's like a culture in Hong Kong where people here like hosting parties on this traditional transport. We had lots of fun and I haven't been in sucha stress free and happy mode for I-don't-know-how-long!!

The theme of our party is 'Nerdiness' and that's why all of us put on the nerdy specs during the party!

I had sucha great night on Friday and thanks to my hubby who came over to fetch me home :P hahah!! LOVE YOU!!!

It's getting super cold today, and I wrapped myself with 3 sweaters and a scarf at work today... Good to know that temperature will rise again tomorrow! I am already missing the hot summer days! HAHAH!!

oh well, PATRICIA LEUNG i am here finally!

i have been being "studious" these days to finish up my VERY LAST ASSIGNMENT for my entire bachelor degree. but i have just completed 2/3 of it. another few hundreds to a thousand to write.

my brain has no capacity for any fashion or whatever recently because apparently i scratched my car the other day when i was parking into the garage (which is pretty stupid actually) and im figuring out the cheapest way to get it fixed. :(
such a mendokusai thing ne. i wish there's just money dropping from the sky from now. T_T

but then i went to karaoke like two to three times last week firstly because of my darling's birthday, and the other two times we just went there for fun. HAHA.

i need some shopping! i want to get a watch because mine's not working. and i want a pair of sunnies..Chanel is a good choice ;) and i just need to eliminate some fat before i buy any tops or trousers/shorts. so perhaps i need to wait till november when im back in 852.

Fake Gems Earrings

This is a super easy peasy project that costs you only a few (HK) dollars. All you need to do is to stick the fake gems and sequins onto a piece of black felt and to do a little bit of cutting.

What you may need to get for this project include:

Earring, hooks, fake gems and sequins. As simple as these!

Procedure:

1. Stick the fake gems and sequin onto a piece of black felt. Place everything in your desired positions and glue them with White Glue. Let it Dry.

2. Cut out the earrings and leave a margin of 1-2mm (upon your preferences). Prick a tiny hole with a pin/needle for easier attachment of the hooks.

DONE!

Oooopsy! Seems that all my entries are about DIYs now... I have been wanting to do some outfit posts but my narcissistic bf is too obsessed with being photo shot by me and is quite reluctant to take photos of me (well... I always think that I am more like the "man" in our relationship).

Anyways, I will try my best to coerce him to be my photographer, but.....HOW!? The only way that pops up in my mind at this moment is to hypnotize him.

From a Cardigan to a Belt

The birth of this "belt" was inspired by an agnes b belt I discovered the other day at Festival Walk.

The following is another cropped cardi from H&M. I actually love it very much, but I couldn't fit into a size 32 by any means (didn't know why I'd get it...), thus I decided to give it a new look.

You can see how adorable those golden glitters are on the cardi... However, I am gonna give it a cruel cut!

I am using the fabric covering the bottom 3 buttons, given my desired width of the belt and my waist measurement. A cropped cardi is ideal for this project because the bottom part of it is very close to my waist measurement.

Place the fabric on the floor as follow. Leave around 1.5cm at the top and bottom parts of the fabric and draw 2 horizontal lines (i.e. red lines in the picture). Fold the fabric into half, with right side hiding. Sew the 2 red lines together securely.

After sewing the red lines, you will see a fabric tube with its wrong side facing you. Flip the fabric tube over with the right side facing you instead (as follow).

Cut out one of the sleeves and hoop around the fabric tube.

DONE!

NOTE: I keep the buttons and the button holes intentionally because they can be good "buckles" of the belt. You can hide the buttons by adjusting the hoop on the belt.

Star Light, Star Bright

As I gained an extra (sick) holiday, I remade this old cropped cardi from H&M out of extreme boredom.

So what you need for this project are listed as follows:

And not to mention the above plain black cardi.

The whole thing is really easy. Simply sew the silver beads onto the cardigan in a random manner upon your preferences, and it is DONE!

The silver beads that sets in the black cardigan reminds me of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars". Too much influence from my work...HAHA

I am thinking of getting this burgundy top from Zara... As they only got a size M so I am still struggling whether to get it or not...

I love the sleeves and the colour, but if I gonna wear it in winter, then the sleeves detail will be gone/hidden under the jacket...Although it isn't very marked-up, I needa be cautious when it comes to buying clothes now.. the clothes inside my closet are SLIDING!!!

A Working Saturday

I know it was listed on my employment contract that there are occasions where all native English teachers (NETs) will have to work on weekends; however, when those "occasions" come to me, I just can't help moaning about the school.

Today is one of these "occasions" which I have to work on a Saturday. It's the school's open day and I seriously think that it's quite badly organized...but who cares? We are NETs who aren't supposed to know Cantonese, so there wasn't much that we could help out apart from doing our part (well I admit that I use to be very "hea", i.e. slack off, at work).

I was making "sushi" in my froggy-like uniform in the visual art room today.

And here are my "sushi"! So real, aren't they? (you must say "they are" because they do look real! LOL)

After work I met up with my hubby, and we headed to Tsim Sha Tsui for some window shopping. We then headed to the pier for a relaxing walk.

Typical tourist photos... I wasn't the only Hongky taking this kinda photo tho lol! (I have to admit that my hair looks like a wig in this pic! HAHAH)

Going Red

I can wear everything black from head to toes. Therefore, I still cannot believe that I have bought this big red cardigan.

I felt like a red packet walking on the street yesterday, and I found myself inappropriate to put on this big red cardigan when CNY is yet to come. Winter has not even arrived in HK now!

I had a great day having fabric shopping in Shamshuipo yesterday. I bought some very nice magenta fabric that I will be using to make clutches and pouches! My friend and I had also bought some nerdy specs for our upcoming tram party at the end of this month!WOOHOO!

My jaw dropped after reading the previous entry by my sister. I just got a new camera today too! (Thanks to the prolonged absence of the charger of my previous camera...)

It is a Lumix LX3 and I bought this also under the advice of my hubby (as he was a photography tutor of some online courses before)!

I don't know much about cameras, but I am learning more and more from my darling.
only by its look, PEN EP-1 is no doubt the best-looking digital camera I have ever seen. oh well, maybe some of you will say Leica has the best look among all digital cameras, which I won't disagree with. But look at this compact professional camera, with a choice of white and black, is surely something a camera-lover should get. Despite for its look, PEN EP-1 also provides the best to everyone with its advanced techonology, and the new mirrorless format.

I haven't tried taking pictures with it but I have seen the photos taken since my friend has it for just $900AUD on ebay (don't know if it's second-hand though).

I'd love to learn more about photography IF i was able to get one, which in reality, is pretty impossible because it costs $1400AUD atm!! But as i know, the price in Hong Kong is 1/3 or more less (because of the currency now! $1AUD=$7HKD...). Even if this is the case, I wouldn't have so much to invest in a d.cam. oh well.......

Gold Coast Mini Market

I spent a relaxed afternoon with my hubby at Gold Coast in Hong Kong today. Contrasted to the hectic city life that Hong Kong is famous for, Gold Coast is definitely an ideal place for busy city people to enjoy their precious yet limited leisure time.

As Gold Coast is so different from the places I use to visit, I felt like a tourist today and I bought some "souvenirs" from the mini market there. They are all hand-made and I have always been a great fan of unique hand-made accessories.

Green crytal necklace and earrings which the vendor claimed that they can boost my fortune in money (Woah! Well...)

These hand-made little goods have ignited my urge to engage in some DIY projects! Shall start thinking of new DIY plans tomorrow.

have you all heard of the brand SOMETHING ELSE? people living in Australia should know about this brand, because they're selling in David Jones and General Pants! it's an Australian brand and apparently this brand is hitting all over the world, including the UK, US, Hong Kong and Japan etc.

so...what's so special about SOMETHNG ELSE?
it's just something else! the brand tends to offer all you need for the season, ranging from high fashion to street fashion. the quality of SOMETHING ELSE is also something that every buyer is appreciated at. having their products sold worldwide in famous stores, you can know what the quality should be.

I've always been admiring creative people, and now Natalie Wood, designer of SOMETHING ELSE is one of them. the prints, the use of zips and cuts and leggings etc.are all brilliant. this may not be what you think but is certainly what I am thinking. :)

This is the new knitted jacket I got from Zara the other night that costs only HKD$299!!

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the price tag and I could envision myself dancing in this nice jacket with joy in my mind (with flowers blossoming in the background)...until I saw the tag written "Zara Kids"...

Well yea, as explicitly stated in our blog's name, I am petite and so why not buying from the kids department... again?
Being petite can sometimes be an advantage, if you don't mind about the limited height. Sigh.

Finally I've got the time to update this blog!
My one-week mid-term break is coming to an end, and I haven't been doing much during this break.
But I went to Great Ocean Road for 2 days and did a bit of shopping yesterday at Chapel Street.
I just had the passion to spend money yesterday, unfortunately I did not have much money. HAHA. I spent most of my money on petrol...which maybe worth it for the trip. lol. But turned out I bought myself a pair of Lee cut-off shorts! I like the colour. light denim blue, or summer blue!
I was happy enough to fit in a size 6 as well, though in the end I bought a 7 instead just in case I can't wear it in the future...or maybe a year later? Whatever, 7 is good after all. I think a belt can do something to it. Hehe.

I will try to upload some photos of me with the pair of shorts when I wear it next time ;)

I bought it in Japan during my exchange and it's furry. not very exaggerate and easy to match!

Thanks to the invention of Internet, so that my fondness for Tina Chow could be ignited. She is definitely one of the most beautiful women whom I have seen. I always have special inclinations to beautiful women embracing both Caucasian and Asian blood.

If Kate Moss is the "must-follow-fashion-muse" in the contemporary fashion world, then Tina Chow should be the one back in the 80s.

To me, the 80s was filled with disco balls and broad shoulders, i.e. exactly what we are crazy about now.

Inspired by the glittery and shiny disco balls, I came up with these pairs of sequin and gems earrings.

These earrings can definitely do the talking so they are best to match with simple outfits. Hopefully will post up some of my outfit posts with these earrings on.

Please bear with the not-so-ideal resolutions of some of the photos. I will try my best to rediscover my camera charger (I lost it when I moved to another apartment months ago)... It must be lying somewhere in my apartment... RAGH!
